Celebrating Women in Science on International Women’s Day

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the pioneering women who paved the way, and the brilliant women on our own team who are continuing that legacy through their dedication to science, research, and innovation.

As a company specializing in injection technology, we recognize how foundational innovations have shaped the field in which we work today. One such key individual is Jeanne Amélie Lüer, whose contributions to medical innovation continue to impact the world today. On this International Women’s, Idevax honours Lüer’s legacy and the lasting influence of her contributions to healthcare.

Indeed, in 1894, Lüer played a pivotal role in designing and producing the first all-glass syringe in Paris—a ground-breaking advancement that transformed the way medical injections were performed. Her design introduced greater safety, durability, and precision, laying the foundation for the modern syringe.

Today, syringes are essential tools in diagnostics and treatment, enabling the safe and effective administration of medications, vaccines, and fluids. Lüer’s work continues to influence medical technology more than a century later, demonstrating the lasting impact women have had—and continue to have—on scientific progress.

Also, this International Women’s Day, we are proud to celebrate the incredible women who make up the heart of our team and are dedicated to advancing science and research every day.

Furthermore, being surrounded by such a powerful community of women in science is something we are immensely proud of. Today is an opportunity to recognize their achievements, as well as their expertise and commitment to the field.

To the women of our team—and to women in science everywhere—today we celebrate you.
