Welcoming Merel Bartels to Idevax, our Biomedical Scientist! 

Recently graduating her master’s in biomedical science, we’re excited to welcome Merel to the team! She will be part of the R&D team at Idevax as she extends her interest in biomedical sciences as a PhD student.

We had the lovely opportunity to chat with her about her background, her path into healthcare and medical devices, and what excites her about this next chapter.

1. Can you share more about your education/career trajectory🎙️?

I recently graduated in June with a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, specializing in Molecular Mechanisms in Health and Disease. During my internships I focused on dendritic cells as a therapy for multiple sclerosis (MS), this gave me valuable hands-on experience in experimental and translational research.

2. What interests you most about science 🎙️?

I am especially interested in the way scientific discoveries can translate from the lab bench to real-world applications that improve people’s lives.   

3. Why did you decide to pick MedTech🎙️?

I decided to pursue a career in MedTech because it bridges my passion for biomedical research with improving patient’s health and quality of life.
